Karen Barr
Managing Director, Individual Giving
Karen Barr serves as Managing Director, Individual Giving. In her role as Managing Director, Karen develops and directs strategies to help Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry campaign reach mission-critical revenue targets through digital and offline, DRTV, face-to-face, sustainer and mid-level. Prior to joining Share Our Strength in 2023, Karen served as Managing Director, Supporter Experience at Save the Children. She is very active in the non-profit community and is a frequent speaker at conferences in the areas of direct response and mid-level. Karen has over 25 years of experience and her background includes marketing strategy, fundraising, communications/branding, project management, budget management and development, program/campaign development & optimization and fundraising analysis. Karen also has extensive experience developing and growing direct response and mid-level programs across various channels/sources and leading successful teams. Karen lives in Connecticut with her husband and daughter Kandace.
Allison Shuffield
Managing Director, Corporate Partnerships
Allison Shuffield is Managing Director, Corporate Partnerships at Share Our Strength, the non-profit organization behind the No Kid Hungry campaign, where she leads a team to secure and manage the organization’s corporate relationships. Prior to Share Our Strength, Allison honed her corporate social responsibility and cause marketing prowess at Global Action for Children and the American Red Cross. Allison is a graduate of Florida State University, a Miami, FL native, and now calls Washington, DC home. Allison and her husband Andrew became parents in 2019 to triplets (a boy and two girls), who keep them constantly moving!
Leah Ray
Chief Revenue Officer
Leah Ray serves as the Chief Revenue Officer, leading the No Kid Hungry revenue-generating programs, with the goal of ensuring every child gets the healthy food they need every day. Prior to joining Share Our Strength, Leah successfully built sustainable revenue and high-performing development teams for large local and national organizations. Her experience runs the gamut: direct response, mid-level and major individual giving, planned giving, foundations, corporate giving and cause marketing. At Social Capital, Ray served as chief strategist to leading nonprofit and foundations. Earlier in her career, Leah built and led transformational fundraising teams at Greater Chicago Food Depository, Feeding America and United Way of Metropolitan Chicago. As senior vice president of development for Feeding America, Leah led the organization’s fundraising efforts with corporate partners and major donors and was responsible for significant annual revenue goals. Leah led external affairs at the Greater Chicago Food Depository, where she grew annual fundraising through the expansion of corporate and foundation partnerships and individual giving. At United Way, Leah led a board task force to reimagine the organization’s positioning of its impact in Chicago’s neighborhoods. Leah lives in Chicago, IL with her husband and two daughters. She earned a bachelor’s degree at Grinnell College and a master’s certificate in nonprofit management from North Park University.
