RELEASE: Share Our Strength Welcomes Maura Allen as Chief Program Officer

Allen will lead the nonprofit’s largest division to in its mission to end childhood hunger and poverty

WASHINGTON, Aug. 11, 2026 – Share Our Strength, the anti hunger and poverty organization behind the award-winning No Kid Hungry campaign, has hired Maura Allen as its new Chief Program Officer. In this role, Allen will lead Share Our Strength’s largest division, playing a central role to shape a unified, forward-looking programmatic strategy to help advance the nonprofit’s mission of ending childhood hunger and poverty in the U.S. and abroad.

Allen will partner closely with Share Our Strength’s CEO as a member of the executive leadership team and serve as a critical bridge between strategy and execution, developing a bold programmatic vision for the organization and translating it into a focused, results-driven program agenda that aligns teams, reinforces strategic priorities, and drives implementation and sustained execution across all programs. In doing so, Allen will lead the organization’s highly-skilled program team to help refine and spearhead innovative tactics that optimizes impact for the organization’s ongoing efforts to strengthen and expand access to federal nutrition programs like SNAP and school meals, tackle the root causes of food insecurity and strengthen pathways for economic opportunity.

Maura Allen joins Share Our Strength from her most recent role as Chief Program Officer at the global economic development organization ACDI/VOCA. Over more than 20 years, she has led global program portfolios and teams, shaping strategies that drove systems change to strengthen food security and expand economic opportunity for communities around the world. She is driven by a deep commitment to positive, lasting outcomes for families and children.
